ATTENTION ALL TRACTOR USERS

Early in July, someone, as yet unidentified, caused serious and expensive damage to the tractor by reversing too far into the sea. This resulted in the started motor being beyond repair due to ingress of salt water and seizing up.

On further inspection, the gearbox and clutch housing are half full of seawater and are also likely to fail due to bearing damage in the box and corrosion of the clutch thrust bearing and springs.

May I remind members with tractor use that it’s use is at the discretion of the club and any member found to be causing the type of damage outlined above will lose said use.

PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW THE WATER TO RISE BEYOND REAR TYRE DEPTH ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS A LARGE SWELL ON THE RAMP
